Rice Village District Typography Posters

These posters were created in order to have a closer view of the typography around a city, for this particular case it was the Rice Village in Houston, TX.
Here I was able to show case local typographic environments in which each signage had its very own personality. All of it was done merely with my own photography of the typography found in that specific area of the city. The idea was to be able to recognize the typefaces and/or style of letterforms utilized.

These posters are also shown in a duo-tone color scheme which relates to the Rice Village. The posters also include a small infographic map which indicates the location in which these local typographic signages were photographed. Along with the infographic map is a list of each typographic signage with the possible typeface and/or letterforms that were used.

Rice Village better known as, “The Village is one of the oldest areas were it is known for the shopping centers. The Village is also to be known as the premier shopping center. This shopping center has been around since the 1930’s.

The Village is a collection of shops, restaurants, pubs that are about a half-mile down from the Rice University. It extends over 10 blocks. Each shop has a unique way of expressing their merchandise that they are trying to portray to the customers. Each has a certain way to catch the people’s attention and inviting them in their shop. The Village itself has a retro sense of style. The shops have different color schemes, symbols, typography and call outs. Each is very unique.
